Lawful Basis

We process your data only where we have a lawful basis under UK GDPR:

  • Contract: account creation and management, messaging, memberships, and delivery of the service you have agreed to.
  • Legal obligation: age and identity verification, and fraud prevention where required by law.
  • Legitimate interests: security, moderation, abuse prevention, and platform safety (e.g. login and security logging).
  • Consent: non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics) and, where applicable, optional marketing or promotional communications.

Communications

We send essential service messages (e.g. account, security, password reset, transaction and order updates) as necessary to provide the service. We may also send optional marketing or promotional messages where you have agreed to receive them. You can manage your preferences or opt out of non-essential communications in your account settings or via the unsubscribe link where provided.

Login Activity and Security Logging

We log login attempts to ensure account security. This includes:

  • IP address and estimated location (city, country, latitude/longitude, timezone)
  • Device details (platform/OS, browser, mobile/desktop)
  • Success/failure of the attempt and timestamps

This data helps detect suspicious behaviour (e.g., multiple accounts, bot activity, geo/device anomalies), prevent unauthorised access, and improve platform safety.

4. Special Category Data

⚠️ Note: This section explains handling of sensitive data.

Profile data you choose to provide may include information that is classified as special category under UK GDPR, such as sexual orientation or preferences. We process this data only where necessary to provide the service you have requested, with appropriate safeguards in place, and only in the context of our adults-only (18+) platform. We do not use it for any purpose beyond the operation of the service.

  • Health-related data (where you choose to provide it)
  • Sexual orientation or preferences
  • Other protected characteristics you may include in your profile

5. Children's Privacy

Our services are restricted to users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.

Age Verification

If we suspect a user is underage, we will:

  • Suspend the account
  • Request proof of age
  • Restrict access until verification

Important:

Failure to verify age may result in data deletion, except for minimal retention for legal safety.

6. Cookies and Technical Information

We use a cookie consent banner so you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. Essential cookies (e.g. session and login) are necessary for the site to function. Non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics) are only set after you give your consent. You can change your choices at any time.

Where you have consented, we may use analytics and similar technologies (e.g. Google Analytics, reCAPTCHA for bot/spam protection) to improve the service. Ad providers may also set cookies when you interact with ads; these are managed by third parties and governed by their privacy notices.

We also store data locally to resume sessions and improve your experience.

7. Photos and Images Processing

Images uploaded to The Fetish Network must comply with our terms. Photos are stored securely within the EEA.

8. Advertising

We fund our services in part through advertising, including member-sponsored content and banner ads.

External Advertisers

⚠️ You are responsible for reviewing third-party privacy policies when clicking ads.

9. Information Sharing and Third Parties

Personal data is processed in the UK and EEA only. We do not transfer your personal data internationally.

We use service providers (processors) who act only on our instructions to support our operations. These include:

  • Email delivery providers
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics and security services (e.g. Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA, where enabled)

We do not disclose the details of our internal security or fraud-prevention methods. We also disclose data when legally required (e.g. court orders or safeguarding concerns).

10. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, and control your personal data under UK GDPR. For data protection requests, including subject access requests (DSARs), please use the contact details in section 15. We will respond within one month; we may extend this by up to two further months where the request is complex, as permitted by law. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

  • Access and portability of your data
  • Correction or deletion
  • Restriction or objection to processing
  • Withdraw consent or lodge complaints

Right to Erasure (How It Works)

When you request account deletion, we deactivate your account and remove your profile and user-generated content. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period and may be retained where required by law or for legitimate security purposes. After deletion we may retain hashed identifiers (e.g. of email or device) solely to prevent repeat abuse and to enforce our terms. This does not allow us to identify you personally.

11. Security Measures

We store data on secure, encrypted servers within the EU. Our systems are protected by physical and electronic security controls. In case of breach, we notify users and regulators as required.

Automated Security Checks

  • Rate limiting and temporary lockouts after repeated failed logins.
  • Honeypot traps and bot/threat scoring to deter automated abuse.
  • IP/device logging and GeoIP lookups to detect unusual activity.
  • IP overlap, device/browser mismatch, and geo mismatch alerts for admin review.
  • Session hygiene and other measures to reduce account takeover risk.

Login Data Retention

We retain login activity data (including IP addresses and access logs) for up to 6 months to support account security, fraud detection, and abuse prevention. Data may be retained longer only where required by law or for the investigation of serious terms violations.

Data Retention Summary

  • Account and profile data: until you delete your account.
  • Messages and user content: until you delete them or your account is deleted.
  • Verification outcome and limited details: retained for compliance and safety, as described in our ID & Age Verification page.
  • Reports and moderation records: retained for safety and enforcement.
  • Security logs: retained for a limited period (see Login Data Retention above).
  • Hashed identifiers after deletion: retained solely to prevent repeat abuse.
  • Backups: retained for a limited period; data in backups is overwritten in due course.

12. KinkCoins (Site Currency)

KinkCoins are the site’s virtual currency. You may purchase KinkCoins and use them within permitted features. Where available, you may request withdrawals once a minimum threshold is met. A site fee and payment processing fee apply and may change. We may place holds or limits and investigate activity in cases of suspected fraud, chargebacks, or Terms violations. Manipulation may result in forfeiture and/or permanent ban.

13. Payments & Chargebacks

Payments are handled by trusted third-party processors. We receive limited payment metadata necessary for accounting and compliance; full card details are not stored by us. You agree not to initiate chargebacks without legitimate grounds. Abuse of chargebacks or payment fraud may result in account suspension or permanent ban. Refunds are handled per our Terms & Conditions and applicable law.

The following are strictly prohibited and will be removed; accounts may be suspended or banned:

  • Underage content or suspected underage individuals
  • Non-consensual content or exploitation
